Nothing phone (1) design is finally unveiled

Despite the fact that the Nothing Phone (1)'s release is still a month away, the company has already begun generating interest by revealing what the gadget will look like. The device appears to be a mix of the iPhone X's back (with its pill-shaped dual-camera island) and flat edges from afar. However, the rear cover is transparent, displaying a large wireless charging coil, several screws (something you don't see on smartphones these days) as well as a mysterious pattern teased earlier by creator Carl Pei.

Nothing has revealed anything new since the teasers, but we assume that the firm still has a few tricks up its sleeve, particularly how Pei will enable "an open and diverse product ecosystem" with this device. So far, we know that the Nothing Phone (1) will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon mid-tier chip, as well as Nothing OS, which is pure Android without any design flourishes. Adam Bates, who leads Nothing's design team, joined the company in early 2022 after working for Dyson for 15 years.

The Nothing Phone 1 will be launched in London at 4PM BST/11AM EST on July 12th.
