We are talking about 35 infantry fighting vehicles. In return, Slovenia received a voucher from the United States for the purchase of weapons, the amount of which exceeds the cost combat vehicles.
What is M-80A
M-80A - this is a Yugoslav-made infantry fighting vehicle. It is an improved version of the M-80, which was launched in the 80s. M-80A has a 320 hp engine. The infantry fighting vehicle is equipped with one 20 mm cannon, a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and a dual launcher for guided anti-tank missiles.
The machine also has a fire extinguishing system, an internal heating system and a water ejection system. That is, it can cross any water obstacle without prior preparation. The maximum speed in water M-80A is 8 km/h. The crew of the vehicle consists of three people: the driver, the commander and the weapon operator. The rear compartment of the M-80A also has room for six fully equipped infantrymen, who can engage the enemy with personal firearms through six slits on both sides of the vehicle and on the rear door.
