Hyundai reveals design if its Ioniq 6 electric vehicle

Hyundai has shown the design for Ioniq 6, its next electric car, which was inspired by the Prophecy concept EV it debuted in 2020. It looks like a prop from a sci-fi film without looking like it's been pulled out of a movie studio. Hyundai claims the car will have an ultra-low traction coefficient of 0.21, which is lower than most vehicles on the road today (0.25 or 0.3). Its elliptical wing-inspired spoiler and tiny boat-tail design aid in its aerodynamic improvement as well.

The Ioniq 6's interior is designed to look like a cocoon, featuring sustainable materials such as eco-process leather or recycled PET fabric for seats. The company's modular electric vehicle platform allowed its designers to elongate the vehicle and create a completely flat floor for more legroom and space. It has a modular touchscreen dashboard with a 12-inch touchscreen display and digital cluster.

The automaker has yet to reveal the EV's specifications, but Ioniq 6 has a 72.6-kWh battery and up to 300 miles of range. It also has 320 horsepower, 446 pound-feet of torque, and the ability to drive from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. During its global premiere in July, Hyundai plans on revealing the Ioniq 6's complete specs and features.
