Beta levels of the second part and files of Half-Life 2 were found in the Portal dialog on Switch - the latter was able to run
From the release Portal: Companion Collection on Switch a little more than a day passed, and the marauders had already begun to take it apart. And not for nothing - previously unseen beta levels were hidden among the game files Portal 2 along with developer tools as well as data Half-Life 2. The latter even managed to run on the "switch".
The craftsman under the nickname OatmealDome is the first reported about the files of the second Half-Life in the set Portal for Switch. According to him, the developers left almost the entire game in the Companion Collection, except for the maps and music. He assumed that he had before him the remains of a version of Freeman's adventures for NVIDIA Shield - the first Portal and Half-Life 2 have long been registered on the media console. "At the same time, there are many files in the game that do not belong here: models HL2, NPCs, voice recordings and more" - states OeatmealDome.
Later he managed to launch Half-Life 2 on stitched Switch, loading the missing cards. Action can be played, but not without problems - it's still a very rough port. Here's how the modder describes the gameplay:
"The game seems to work. Sometimes it crashes, in some maps it is not possible to move along the plot, character animations are buggy, saving does not work, and the cameras are located at the wrong coordinates"
Other artisans took up the find. Maybe on stitched ones Nintendo Switch an unofficial port of the second will appear soon Half-Life 2.
Regarding beta levels and tools Portal 2, the blogger told the world about them Ossy Flawol. He showed the excavated locations: some of them were unfinished levels from the final game, and other rooms were used for testing. For example, in a room called fizzlertest, developers could test the effects of decay of objects that occurred through an energy barrier. Two premises were also found, where Aperture Science keeps potential test subjects.
Ossy Flawol does not rule out that with further research of the found materials, game hunters will be able to dig up even more details.
