Kotaku: Hundreds of people fired from Unity
According to Kotaku, the company Unity, which is responsible for the game engine of the same name, is cutting back - 300-400 people have already lost their jobs.
The layoffs affected offices around the world. It got to almost all divisions, but most of all - to engineers and the AI team.
Employees were informed of the layoffs in an unexpected video call with management. The dismissed will be paid a month's salary and medical allowance in advance, and will also be allowed to recall to other vacancies in Unity. But what is the problem: now hiring in all departments is stopped.
They say recently Unity suffered from rapid staff turnover, inept management and regular changes in the company's strategy.
