Skull & Bones and Riders Republic will host special events on environmental issues
From published documents Ubisoft it became clear that environmental problems for the company are not empty words. Therefore in Riders Republic and Skull & Bones, what is being prepared, will be held events related to ecology.
Both ideas were presented within the framework of the consortium Playing for the Planet Alliance — an association of game studios created during the UN climate summit in 2019. Its members promote care for the environment through digital entertainment, and also try to plant trees and reduce the amount of emissions into the atmosphere.
West in Riders Republic will focus on wildfires and strategies for their prevention. Ubisoft will not separately report the start of the event. Instead, players will immediately face the consequences of fires:
- The sky will turn red from the fire, and the entire map will be covered in smoke.
- By default, all characters will wear masks.
- Some of the locations will be inaccessible, as it is impossible to breathe near ignition sources.
Gamers must join forces in a tense event to save the redwoods from the fire. First, it is necessary to find the most vulnerable areas, and then protect them by wrapping the trunks with foil or clearing the area of combustible elements. Forest in Riders Republic flares up by the end of 2022 or at the beginning of 2023.
For Skull & Bones an event is being prepared to address the problem of overfishing. According to the developers, gamers will spend most of their time in the sea - it has a lot of resources, which makes it tempting to abuse the bounty of the depths.
Users will be able to personally observe what happens in the game and in the real world when the high demand for shark fins leads to overfishing of marine predators. The event will be one of the seasonal events, participation in which promises rewards.
Skull & Bones, according to rumors, will appear on November 8. The release date seems quite real given the fact that various commissions have already determined its age rating. If the insider is to be believed, the pirate action will be re-presented at the beginning of July.
