Individual subscribers can now use Google Meet's premium video calling features

Google is announcing today that three Google Meet features that were previously only accessible through Workspace plans for businesses are now available to Google One subscribers. These include the ability to have group calls that may last up to 24 hours (up from an earlier restriction of one hour), access to Google Meet's background noise filtering capability, and support for recorded video conversations.

These services aren't available on all Google One plans. They'll be accessible to users who spend at least $10 a month or $100 a year for a subscription, which is the case with 2TB or more of storage. For now, the features are only available in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and Australia; additional countries will be added soon.

It's a little improvement for Google One that makes certain sophisticated features of Google Workspace accessible to the general public. And, according to Google's announcement, it won't be the last, with "additional select premium services" from Meet, Gmail, and Calendar set to arrive on Google One plans in the future.
