Despite the rumors, Google is not closing Stadia

Google Stadia is a cloud-based gaming service that launched in 2019. Despite all the efforts, the platform did not achieve much success. As a result, the gaming division of Stadia Games and Entertainment was shut down, and the service itself decided to promote among gamers, but among businessmen. The other day there was another rumor that Stadia would be closed altogether.

Twitter account Killed by Google published messages from an alleged Google employee. According to him, the cloud service will not survive until the end of the summer of 2022. Users quickly picked up the rumor and contacted representatives of Stadia in social networks. However, they denied the information:

"Stadia is not closing. Rest assured, we're constantly working to add more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro."

Even if Google doesn't quit supporting cloud-based game streaming, it's no longer as fired up about the idea as it once was - there's less and less entertainment being announced for Stadia. Nevertheless, the company is not giving up trying to save the project and has planned several innovations for Stadia, which should appear in 2022.
