Money in the air: Russia fired $100 million worth of cruise missiles at Ukraine in just one day, 7 out of 8 were shot down
As we wrote earlier, on the evening of August 2 Ukrainian air defense system destroyed 7 out of 8 cruise missiles launched by Russian missile carriers from the Caspian Sea. Forbes calculated how much money was spent on this.
How much?
So, Russia fired eight Kh-101 (X-555) type missiles from the Caspian Sea area towards the western and southern regions of Ukraine. The missile Kh-101 costs $13 million, Kalibr - $6.5 million, Iskander - $3 million, Onyx - $1.25 million, Kh-22 - $1 million, Tochka-U - $0.3 million. In other words, just yesterday evening the aggressor country spent over $100 million on shelling the Ukrainian territory.
In this case one missile was shot down by a Ukrainian air force fighter, another six were shot down by the air defense system. One missile did reach its target in the Lviv region. That is, in financial terms, Ukraine "destroyed" more than 90 million (Russian) dollars.
"Just yesterday, Russia struck Ukraine with $100 million worth of missiles. Putin is condemning Russia to poverty by his criminal war instead of investing in its future. Isn't it time for Russians to stop marching with portraits of their corrupt leader and start asking questions?" - Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko wrote on social media.
Yesterday alone, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles worth $100 million. Putin consigns Russia to poverty with his criminal war, instead of investing in its future. Isn't it time for Russians to stop marching with portraits of their corrupt leader and start asking questions?
