Just like in the game: HBO showed the first teaser of the TV adaptation of The Last of Us

The published HBO MAX promo video, which was an announcement of the future series, finally showed the first teaser of The Last of Us.

What else is known?

We see Pedro Pascal, known from The Mandalorian, and Bella Ramsey, who played in Game of Thrones, as Joel & Ellie. The teaser shows us one of the most famous scenes in Game of Thrones at the Jackson Ranch, where Ellie says, "Everyone I ever cared about is either dead or gone from me. This confirms the fact that the series will feature many of the game's moments on television.

In addition to Joel and Ellie, Nick Offerman as Bill was also shown for a second. But the series is not going to replicate Naughty Dog's project 100%. The teaser already showed scenes that fans have seen for the first time. For example, Joel teaches Ellie how to hold and shoot a gun properly, or a location near a snow-covered bridge, or Ellie running and trying to get away from someone. Also not without a moment showing the first location on the game in Texas with Joel and Sarah, played here by Nico Parker, and a scene where an infected Clicker is stuck to the wall in an underpass tunnel, which is a calling card.

Neil Druckmann, creative director of The Last of Us game series, is the executive producer and co-writer of the TV show's script, and Craig Mazin, who directed the Chernobyl series for HBO, is also the writer and executive producer.

The Last of Us is a game from NaughtyDog that was released in 2013. In 2020, the Sony exclusive was voted "the best of the decade" by MetaCritic users. A television adaptation of the game is being developed by HBO. Release on HBO MAX should be expected in 2023.
