Google may add the ability to save backups of Wear OS smartwatches to Google One
Google is working on a useful new feature for Wear OS smartwatch users.
What we know
We are talking about the ability to create a backup copy of the watch and save it in the cloud storage Google One. Mention of the new feature was noticed by XDA specialists in the code of the beta version of Google Play Services. Thanks to the innovation, Wear OS watch users will be able to quickly restore data when switching to a new smartphone. Recall, now when you switch to a new device, you have to reset the watch and reconfigure it.
When to expect
Unfortunately, it is unknown when Google will introduce the new feature. Perhaps it will be announced along with the Pixel Watch later this year. By the way, it is possible that the watch backup will be part of a paid subscription to Google One.
