New PlayStation 5 revisions CFI-1202A and CFI-1202B appeared first in Australia
New revisions of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition reached Australia. This was revealed by Press Start.
Here's What We Know
Japanese retailer GEO Online recently noted that a new PlayStation 5 revision will be available in Japan on September 15, and it seems that the first country where this revision appeared was Australia. Press Start found the PlayStation 5 CFI-1202A with a disc drive and the PlayStation 5 CFI-1202B without a disc drive. They were purchased at several Australian stores last week.
The main difference between the 2022 and 2021 models is weight. The CFI-1202B without a floppy drive is 200 grams smaller than the 2021 console and 500 grams lighter than the 2020 version. And the CFI-1202A with a floppy drive is 300 grams lighter than the 2021 revision and 600 grams lighter than the 2020 model. The PS5 with a floppy drive in its second revision now weighs the same as the 2020 version without a floppy drive.
Other changes in the new revision are not yet known.
