UK sales chart for August: PlayStation 5 was bought the most in the console market, and the new Saints Row was the favorite among the games
Gameindustry shared a new sales chart report for August in the UK. PlayStation 5 was purchased more than Nintendo Switch. And of the games, gamers bought the new Saints Row most of all in the last month of summer.
The supply of PlayStation 5 increased by 56% in the UK. This makes Sony's console the best-selling in the UK at the moment. The PS5 is now ahead of the Nintendo Switch. Although sales of the Nintendo console also increased by 4% in August. The top three are closed by Microsoft Xbox Series X|S consoles. During August, almost 125,000 consoles were sold in the UK, which is 20% more than in July. In total, 880,000 consoles were sold this year, which is 36% less than in the first eight months of 2021.
As for games, 1.67 million games were sold in the UK last month. This is 10% less than in August last year and 3% less than in July. The best-selling digital version was the new Saints Row. What is more interesting, most of all the game was bought on Xbox. But the leader among physical copies was Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
