For the first time the AFU captured the Russian self-propelled howitzer 2S5 "Hyacinth-S" with a range of more than 30 km

The Armed Forces of Ukraine in the course of a counterattack in the Kharkiv region were able to seize the Russian 2S5 Hyacinth-S self-propelled artillery unit for the first time.

Here's What We Know

"Hyatsint-S" is a 152-mm howitzer on a tracked chassis, which is designed to eliminate control points, manpower, military equipment and enemy installations. The artillery unit uses high-precision, high-explosive and reactive shells. The maximum launch range is 20 km, 30.5 km and 33.1 km respectively.

The 2S5 Hyacinth-S is equipped with a 2A37 152-mm gun with 30 rounds ammunition. Also the armament system includes one machine gun of 7.62 mm caliber. The engine power is 520 horsepower. The howitzer can reach a speed of almost 63 km/h on highway and 30 km/h on rough terrain. The maximum range is 500 km.
