Ukraine buys from Germany modern RCH-155 SAU with a Panzerhaubitze 2000 turret and a range of fire up to 54 km, contract worth 216,000,000 euros
According to the German newspaper WELT, Ukraine is going to buy modern self-propelled artillery systems RCH-155 from Germany.
Here's What We Know
The request for the purchase of SAU was formalized by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and, as media reports say, Germany approved it. We are talking about 18 units worth 216,000,000 euros. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann will be able to deliver the first SAU in 30 months. That is the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the RCH-155 not earlier than March 2025.

RCH-155 is a modern 155-mm self-propelled artillery unit on the basis of wheeled Boxer armored personnel carrier and with a turret from Panzerhaubitze 2000. The crew consists of two men. The RCH-155 is able to shoot while driving. Maximum range is 54 km and rate is 9 rounds per minute. The vehicle weighs 39 tons. Due to the 815 hp engine, the RCH-155 can accelerate up to 100 km/h.
