Keep making art: The Last of Us author Neill Druckmann supports Rockstar developers after Grand Theft Auto VI data leak
The creative director of Naughty Dog and the author of The Last of Us Part I&II and Uncharted 4 Neil Druckmann expressed his support to Rockstar studio after hackers published the gameplay and source code of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Here's What We Know
Druckmann is well aware of how Rockstar developers feel, because in 2020, a few months before the release of The Last of Us Part II, gameplay footage and a detailed description of the game's plot were published online. Neil then said that the whole team was depressed.
"To my fellow devs out there affected by the latest leak, know that while it feels overwhelming right now, it’ll pass. One day we’ll be playing your game, appreciating your craft, and the leaks will be relegated to a footnote on a Wikipedia page. Keep pushing. Keep making art. "
Flashback
On September 18, a hacker published dozens of gameplay footage of the upcoming GTA VI and its source code on the gtaforums website. And the famous game journalist Jason Schreier confirmed that the footage is real. At the moment, most of the videos on YouTube have been removed, as well as the page with this information on gtaforums.
We will not distribute any footage related to GTA VI and hope that Rockstar will quickly find the strength to move on!
