Teledyne unveils SIRAS drone with 128x zoom and thermal imager (640 x 512) for $10,000

Teledyne has unveiled a new drone for commercial use. The quadcopter is called SIRAS.

Here's What We Know

More specifically, the drone was announced by Teledyne FLIR, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies. The drone is designed for industrial facility security, inspections, street patrols and search and rescue operations.

SIRAS is equipped with a thermal imager with a resolution of 640 x 512 dots, 5x zoom, and compatibility with FLIR's proprietary Thermal Studio software. The company claims that the quadcopter will produce better thermal images. To get the full picture in real time, there is MSX technology, which allows you to combine images from the conventional and thermal cameras. The main camera has a resolution of 16 MP. It has a 128x zoom.

The quadcopter body has water protection IP54. The maximum flight time is 31 minutes. It supports hot-swappable battery. SIRAS is equipped with sensors that allow it to evade obstacles. It uses a 2.4/5.8 GHz dual-band connection for control.

Price & When We Can Expect It

SIRAS will cost nearly $10,000. Sales are scheduled to start later this year.
