Razer, Verizon and Qualcomm announced the world's first handheld console on Snapdragon G3x Gen1 with 5G support
At the Mobile World Congress in Las Vegas, Verizon announced the world's first portable gaming console with 5G support. In addition to the mobile operator, Razer and Qualcomm are involved in the development.
Here's What We Know
The gaming console is called the Razer Edge 5G. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen1 mobile processor and runs on Android. The single-chip system was introduced in late 2021. The chip has an Adreno graphics controller and supports a frame rate of 144 Hz. The mobile processor includes a 5G modem and a Wi-Fi 6E wireless adapter.

Qualcomm and Razer demonstrated the capabilities of the Snapdragon G3x Gen1 last year. They presented a prototype handheld console with a 6.65" OLED screen at 120 Hz, stereo speakers, a 5 MP camera, and a 6000 mA*h battery. The Razer Edge 5G is expected to have similar specs.
According to Verizon, the novelty will be able to run games from the cloud and from built-in memory. Full presentation of the Razer Edge 5G will be held on October 15.
