Microsoft has announced that its SwiftKey mobile keyboard will be removed from the App Store as of October 5.
Here’s What's We Know
Chris Wolfe, director of product management for SwiftKey, told The Verge that the Android version of the keyboard will continue to be supported. "For those customers who have installed SwiftKey on iOS, it will continue to work until you manually remove it or change your device."
Why exactly Microsoft decided to deprive iOS users of the ability to use its keyboard is unknown. It had been available on iOS since 2014, two years before Microsoft acquired the startup.
