The U.S. has seen evidence that Iranian drones have suffered "numerous failures" on the battlefield. Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Sasha Baker told a briefing.
""We have seen some evidence already that the UAVs associated with the transfer from Iran have already experienced numerous failures on the battleground, on the battlefield in Ukraine"," she stressed.
As a result, drones have not been a major technological breakthrough for russia. ""I think that the idea that they represent some technological leap ahead, frankly, we’re just not seeing borne out in the data"," Baker added.
The Ukrainian military has been shooting down several Shahed 136 kamikaze drones almost daily lately. Iran does not admit to supplying weapons to Russia, and the latter uses the Shahed 136 under its own name, the Geran-2.
