The AFU shot down 5 of 7 kamikaze drones Shahed-136 overnight
The command of the Air Force of the AFU reports that on the night of October 2, Russian troops attacked the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine with Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed-136. A total of 7 drones were released on the territory of the region.
As a result, 5 drones were destroyed by servicemen of the anti-aircraft missile brigade of Odessa and Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Air Command South.
Shahed-136 is an Iranian-made kamikaze drone with an effective range of 1,000 kilometers. It flies at altitudes from 60 to 4000 meters with a cruising speed of about 180 kilometers per hour, and due to the loud engine MD 550 or 3W, the UAV can be heard from kilometres’ distance. At the same time Iran denies arms supplies to Russia, and the latter is using Shahed-136 under its own name - "Geran-2".
