Germany transferred five Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles based on the Leopard 1 tank chassis to Ukraine

The German government handed over Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It is about 5 machines. This is stated on the website of the German government. The AFU has already been trained in their use. By the way, this is only the first batch. A little later, Ukraine will receive 7 more of these vehicles.

The Bergepanzer 2 is a German armored recovery vehicle based on a Leopard 1 tank chassis and designed to provide mobility for armored units, recovery of damaged vehicles, assistance in replacing or repairing engine-transmission compartment or turret. The Bergepanzer 2 was in service with the Bundeswehr engineer corps, armored battalions and similar units in other armies. Bergepanzer 2 has a machine gun and smoke cannons.
