Microsoft launches Teams Premium with meeting summaries and live translations
Microsoft is launching Teams Premium, a new service that will improve the functionality of chat and collaboration software with special features based on artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
The most important addition was the meeting summarization feature, which will allow you to share highlights and automatically record all the important parts. It's the type of personal assistant that will take notes even when you're not around.
"Today we're launching the meeting result. Once it's held, you'll get a record and a transcript from where you can get all the essential information, without spending time sorting through searches and looking for 'what's relevant or relevant to me,'" explains Nicole Herskowitz, general manager of Microsoft Teams . "An intelligent summary will break down meetings into reasonable segments."
The idea behind the feature is that it will reduce a 40-minute video to a conditional 10 minutes by highlighting, for example, the parts where they mention you or someone shows off their screen. Also, if you left a meeting and came back a little later, you'll be able to see everything that happened while you were gone.
Microsoft Teams Premium also includes a live translation feature based on artificial intelligence. "We're now rolling out live captioning for 40 languages, which will automatically translate as text into other languages," Herskowitz says. "It really supports inclusive collaboration during meetings because anyone will be able to participate in their own language."
The company will also improve security and privacy during calls.
