Ukraine will receive the first Switchblade kamikaze drones in a few weeks

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing to receive their first batch of powerful Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones from AeroVironment.

The announcement was made by Charlie Dean, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for the US company. He noted that the first batch of Switchblade 600 for the Ukrainian Armed Forces "consists of ten". Most likely, we are not talking about 10 complexes, but about 10 drones.

The fact that the U.S. Department of Defense contracted kamikaze drones for Ukraine became known in mid-September, when the updated document Ukraine Contracting Actions appeared on the Pentagon website. According to Charlie Dean, the anti-tank bomber ammunition will be delivered within a few weeks.

The effectiveness of kamikaze drones during the Russo-Ukrainian war made AeroVironment think about tripling production of the Switchblade 600. In addition, back in the summer France declared its desire to arm its army with such drones.
