Plana Aero will create a 7-seat air cab with speeds up to 350 km/h and a range of 500 km

South Korea's Plana Aero is developing a vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) electric-powered air cab.

Here's What We Know

The aircraft will be able to carry up to six people, not including the driver. There is no information about unmanned flight mode. The final version of the air cab will be able to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h. Cruising speed of the vehicle will be 300 km/h and range - 500 km.

eVTOL-taxi will have a long and narrow fuselage. Judging by the conceptual renderings, the aircraft will get six five-blade propellers - four for vertical takeoff and landing, as well as two for horizontal flight.

The manufacturer was able to raise nearly $9 million to build a prototype aircraft. The company wants to unveil a test model of the air cab next year, and a full-scale prototype will appear in 2024. It will have a payload capacity of 700 kg. Mass production is scheduled to start in 2028. The air cab has no commercial name yet. The aircraft can be integrated into the system of regional air transportation.
