"The drone army" sent 20 more bought with donations Warmate kamikaze drones to the front
With the help of the "Army of Drones" project, 20 more Warmate strike drones were sent to the Ukrainian military.
Here's What We Know
In the summer Monobank together with the presidential platform UNITED24 was able to collect 64 million hryvnias for the purchase of two Warmate complexes (20 drones each) for the "Army of drones". The first 20 "birds" Monobank handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine 20 of 40 Warmate kamikaze drones purchased for ₴64,000,000, and now 20 more drones are following.
"Half of the Warmate drones were sent to the front lines last month. Each of them is already on combat missions. Operators mark a point on a map, provide autopilot data to strike - and the drone strikes the target on its own. The drones hit both lightly armored vehicles and air defense systems, electronic warfare and other critical objects of the enemy," said Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Civil Defense.
On the wings of the UAVs sent to the front there are messages for the occupants.
Flashback
Warmate kamikaze drones are produced by the Polish company WM Group and are supplied to NATO countries. Warmate has a wingspan of 1.6 m and a mass of 5.7 kg. The warhead weighs about 2 kg. A pneumatic catapult is used to launch the drone. The drone moves at an altitude of 150-300 m at a speed of up to 150 km/h. It has a control range of 30 km. To hit the target there is a high-explosive or thermobaric part. The first is responsible for destroying armored vehicles, including tanks. The second targets manpower and ammunition depots.
