Manufacturer calls back children’s ATVs Tesla Cyberquad - all do not meet safety standards

Last December, Tesla introduced the Cyberquad for Kids, an electric ATV, based on the design of the Cybertruck pickup truck. Now the manufacturer is forced to recall all produced and sold ATVs.

The reason is that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has determined that the Tesla Cyberquad ATV does not meet safety standards for children's ATVs. Specifically, the mechanical suspension and maximum tire pressure are out of order, and there is no "CPSC-approved action plan for ATVs" (containing instructions for drivers, safety information, age recommendations, and more).

Therefore, all released models will now be returned. In fact, Radio Flyer, not Tesla, was in charge of production. Tesla's main involvement in Cyberquad for Kids was to consult on the appearance of the ATV. In addition, Tesla sold children's ATVs on its website.

About 5,000 Tesla Cyberquad for Kids were sold in all that time. Radio Flyer says all buyers must immediately return the engine controller, the removal of which will permanently disable the Cyberquad. The company promises a full refund, namely $1900.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured while using the quads. Although Radio Flyer is aware of one incident: the single-driver vehicle overturned while a child and a woman were driving, resulting in a bruised shoulder.
