Virgin Galactic will build a Delta tourist spaceship
Virgin Galactic announced preparations for the creation of a new ship for tourist flights. It is called Delta.
Here's What We Know
The coronavirus pandemic has also affected Virgin Galactic. It has already managed to perform four flights with tourists, but since 2021 can not return to space due to delays in the supply of components to upgrade the equipment.
Against the backdrop of all the troubles, the company's shares dropped immediately by 90% compared to last year. In the near future, Virgin Galactic is to announce whether it will be able to resume flights next spring.
There is almost no information about the Delta spacecraft. For now, all that is known is that Qarbon Aerospace will create the wings and fuselage for it, and Bell Textron will develop the fins and produce "other components." Delta is scheduled to enter service in 2026. The spacecraft is expected to be able to make tourist flights at least once a week.
