Apple is forced to reduce production of iPhone 14 due to low demand for cheap smartphones
Bloomberg News Agency reports that until the end of the year Apple will not be able to release the planned number of iPhone 14.
Here's What We Know
The reduction in production cannot be called critical. According to Bloomberg sources, Apple will release 3 million smartphones less than originally planned - 87 million instead of 90 million units. It is noted that the key reason was not the problems at the Foxconn plant in China, which fell under quarantine restrictions, but low demand for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.
On the other hand, analysts at SMBC Nikko believe the production of smartphones will decline from 91 million to 85 million units. Meanwhile, they argue that Apple has changed its production mix both because of low demand for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus and because of the growing popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
