Tesla will be forced to recall more than 40,000 cars due to problems with the steering.
Here's What We Know
The American auto producer will voluntarily recall 40,168 vehicles. The company itself sent the relevant documents to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The problem appeared after the release of an October software update. It affects the 2017-2021 Model S and Model X vehicles. Tesla says that after the update, handling deteriorated while driving on rough roads.
Experts note that the power steering malfunction affects less than 1 percent of cars. As of November 1, 2022, the problem was found on 314 vehicles.
