The Chinese defense industry continues to robotize the country's armed forces. The AirShow China 2022, which began on November 8 and will continue until the end of the week, showed a robot-dog with an automatic cannon.
Here's What We Know
Robotic dogs have not been a novelty for several years. In the summer of 2016, Boston Dynamics introduced the Spot robot. Now Unitree, Xiaomi and even MIT have similar devices.
All of them refused to use their technology militarily. Meanwhile, Ghost Robotics has created a four-legged robot with a 6.5 mm Creedmoor rifle, which can hit targets at up to 1.2 km. It happened last year.
The new Chinese robot has no name. At the AirShow China 2022 was shown how the device moves with the automatic gun mounted on the back. Its installation is considered a problem due to the large mass of the weapon. Unfortunately, the robot was not shown in action. It would be interesting to see how it copes with the recoil during firing.
