A B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber collided with a P-63 Kingcobra at the Wings Over Dallas WWII air show
On November 12, there was a plane crash at Wings Over Dallas WWII at the Dallas airport. Two planes collided in the sky.
Here's What We Know
It was initially reported that a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress (pictured above) collided with an unknown aircraft. Later it became known that the second aircraft involved in the crash was a light aircraft P-63 Kingcobra (pictured below).
The video shows the single-engine plane approaching the B-17 from behind the left wing after a low flyby over the airfield. The Bell P-63 hits the four-engine bomber in the center section during a steep turn.
The collision caused both planes to crash to the ground and explode. The wreckage of the aircraft was found on nearby Highway 67 near Oak Cliff. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not officially announced the pilots' fate.
