Effective weapon against Iranian drones Shahed-136: Germany transfers 30 Gepard SAU to Ukraine
The Ukrainian embassy reports that since the start of the full-scale war, Germany has transferred 30 Gepard anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine. In particular, they have become an effective weapon against Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed-136, which Russia uses to attack Ukrainian cities.
"In defense of the Ukrainian sky: since the beginning of the full-scale war, Germany has supplied Ukraine with 30 Gepard anti-aircraft gun mounts (AAUs). The Gepard has become an effective weapon against Iranian Shahed-136 drones. It is used to protect Ukrainian critical infrastructure," the German embassy in Ukraine said in a statement.
The main characteristics of the units include a crew of 3 people, 2 35 mm guns and 2 radars with a range of 15 km. Ground targets the anti-aircraft unit strikes at a distance of 2 km, and airborne - 5.5 km.
