Snapdragon 778G+ successor: Qualcomm introduced the 6nm Snapdragon 782G processor
Qualcomm recently announced the flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and now showed a new mid-level chip.
Here's What We Know
The novelty is called Snapdragon 782G. This is the successor to last year's Snapdragon 778G+ processor. The chip is built on 6-nanometer process technology and it got the same cores, but with increased refresh rates: one Cortex-A78 at 2.7 GHz, three Cortex-A78 at 2.2 GHz and four at 1.9 GHz. Overall, the performance of the cores increased by 5% and the graphics performance by 10%.
As for the other specifications of the Snapdragon 782G, they remained the same. The SoC got support for Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology, Wi-Fi 6, cameras up to 200 MP, and a Snapdragon X53 5G modem. It can work on sub-6GHz and mmWave networks.
When We Can Expect It
Qualcomm didn't say when the first smartphone with the Snapdragon 782G chip will be released. According to rumors, it could debut in one of the Honor 80 models.
