M109 SAU, spare parts and winter gear: Norway sends new military aid package to Ukraine

Norway transferred a new package of military assistance to Ukraine.

The information was shared by the publication TV2.no. The new package included an additional self-propelled artillery unit M109. In addition, Norway transferred 55,000 pieces of winter clothing for soldiers, 55,000 bandages and individual packs and 30,000 packs of dry rations to the AFU. The arms deliveries are carried out secretly.

The M109 is an American self-propelled howitzer that is in service with the U.S. Army artillery and other countries around the world. The M109 was first used in actual combat during the Vietnam War, then it was used in almost all military conflicts in which the U.S. was involved. It has a 155 mm caliber and a range of up to 30 km (depending on the type of projectile). Currently there are 23 M109 SAU of various modifications.
