Xiaomi returns IP protection to flagships - Xiaomi 13 Pro will not be afraid of water, snow and sand

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro will get water and dust protection, which Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12S Pro did not have.

The Chinese manufacturer on the eve of the presentation published another promotional video dedicated to Xiaomi 13 Pro. Judging by the video, the smartphone will not be afraid of dust, sand, water and snow. Most likely it will receive protection under the IP68 standard.

The company has been releasing budget and mid-range smartphones, protected by IP53 standard for a relatively long time. This means that they are not afraid of splashes and dust. The first flagships with IP68-compliant housings were the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, announced in spring 2021.

However, already in the Xiaomi 11T series, the company abandoned IP68. Also full-fledged protection against water passed models Xiaomi 12 / 12S and Xiaomi 12 / 12S Pro. The only exception was the Ultra version, introduced last summer.

The presentation of the new generation flagships will take place on December 11. This is a little strange, considering that December 11 is a Sunday.
