Rotor X Aircraft Manufacturing has opened pre-orders for a flying vehicle called the Dragon.

Here's What We Know

The manufacturer used to make equipment for assembling two-seat helicopters, but relatively recently has become interested in the vertical takeoff and landing passenger vehicle market, equipped with an electric motor. The model is called the Dragon, and everyone will be able to buy it in less than a year. At least that's what the company says.

The Dragon is equipped with two quartets of propellers. Each propeller is equipped with 16 kW electric motor. According to the company, the aircraft can stay in the air for up to 20 minutes and is designed for a pilot weighing up to 113 kg.

The maximum speed of the electric plane is 101 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the Dragon got a joystick for control, automatic landing support and a parachute system for emergencies.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The Dragon was priced at $99,000. The company is willing to reduce the price by $14,000 for anyone who pre-orders and pays a $19,500 deposit. Deliveries will begin in late summer 2023.
