MIUI 14 for 2017 smartphone has become a reality - the developer has ported the firmware to the Xiaomi Mi 6
A Chinese enthusiast was able to port MIUI 14 software to one of Xiaomi's hit flagships - Mi 6.
Here's What We Know
MIUI 14 firmware was announced on December 11 along with the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones. In the form of a beta version it is available for 29 models, and since January the stable build will receive 11 phones of the Chinese company.
Of course, we are talking about new models. But the developer Amktiao made sure that the owners of older devices also had the opportunity to experience using the new software. MIUI 14 brings to the Xiaomi Mi 6 a number of firmware innovations, including several sizes of application icons and digital pets. That said, the shell itself is based on Android 11 rather than Android 13.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 was the company's latest compact flagship. It came out in 2017, a year before the era of widescreen displays began. The Mi 6 features a 16-to-9 aspect ratio screen with large on-screen bezels, one of which has a Home key.
