Corsair K100 keyboards have started to behave very strangely: they type and repeat the text entered a few days ago
Some time ago, users began to notice the strange behavior of their keyboards Corsair K100, which at times can seriously scare the owner.
Here's What We Know
For example, the keyboards suddenly start typing themselves when no one is using them. What's more, they enter text that was typed by the user days or even weeks ago. You have to agree, this is pretty creepy. In order to stop it, you have to turn off the device and turn it on again. After a while, though, the strange behavior still repeats itself.
It's not a pleasant experience, since Corsair is one of the most famous brands of gaming peripherals, and the K100 is one of the most expensive keyboards costing $200. Users suspected keylogger - a special software or hardware device that registers various actions: keystrokes on the computer keyboard, mouse movements and keystrokes, etc. As a result, attackers can find out the personal data, logins and passwords of their victims.
Corsair is aware of this problem, but assures: it's not a keylogger, so users should not worry about confidential information. Most likely, the bug is related to the keyboard's macro writing function. "Corsair keyboards unequivocally do not log user input in any way and do not have the ability to log individual keystrokes", emphasized a company spokesman.
He also says that this is not a common problem - it has affected a small number of keyboards. Some, but not all users, have seen the problem resolved with a recent firmware update released by Corsair.
