This was reported by the developers themselves while sharing news on the development of the sequel Darkest Dungeon 2. They announced that the original game has just surpassed the "amazing milestone of 6 million copies sold", with an additional copyrighted headline that 16 million copies of the game have been sold. including the game's downloadable content.
