Microsoft makes Excel formulas even easier
Micorosoft has announced that it plans to make auto-complete in Excel even smarter, at least in the web version that comes with the Microsoft 365 suite. Last week it announced Formula Suggestions and Formula Examples that should automate certain actions you used to do manually.
Formula suggestions are smart suggestions from Excel. When you enter part of a formula, the system will try to guess its continuation based on where you write it. For example, if you have the full quarterly sales and a column at the end labeled "total", Excel may suggest summing the range of cells. According to the information published by the company, the feature currently works only in English.
Pattern examples is a feature that will automatically detect patterns in the data and fill in the rest of the column. There's no short way to describe it, so you'd better watch the video below:
