$1,400,000,000 contract: Poland buys 116 additional Abrams M1A1FEP tanks
Poland continues to arm itself, having announced a new contract for the purchase of additional Abrams tanks.

This was reported by the publication Polska Zbrojna. The contract was signed on January 4. It is designed for $1.4 billion. $1.2 billion of them will be paid by Poles, and 200 thousand will be financed by the U.S. as part of the financial aid to Ukraine. For this money Poland will buy 116 Abrams tanks in M1A1FEP modification. In addition to tanks, the contract also includes 12 M88A2 Hercules recovery vehicles, 8 M1074 bridging vehicles, 6 M577 command vehicles, and 26 NG SECM workshops on HMMWV chassis.

The Abrams M1A1FEP (Firepower Enhancement Package) is a deep upgrade of the M1A1 Abrams tank. M1A1FEP boasts improved armor, upgraded opto-electronic system, as well as a modern battlefield fire control system.
