Not only Poland: Great Britain will also give Ukraine tanks, it will be Challenger 2

Following Poland, the British government also plans to transfer NATO-standard tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the journalists, the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has asked the Minister of Defense Ben Wallace to speed up the assistance to Ukraine and to transfer the tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Presumably, we are talking about 10 British Challenger 2 tanks.

The Challenger 2 is the main battle tank of the British ground forces. It was created in 1990s by BAE Systems. The tank was taken out of production in 2009. The Challenger 2 took part in combat operations in Kosovo and Iraq. As of 2022, Britain had 227 Challenger 2 tanks in service. The Oman Armed Forces also use 38 tanks.
