Intel's fastest Core Raptor Lake chip goes on sale - 24 cores, 32 threads, 6 GHz and 150 W TDP for $699
Intel has started selling a select flagship Raptor Lake generation desktop processor that has a maximum clock speed of 6 GHz. The chip is called the Intel Core i9-13900KS.
Here's What We Know
The processor is aimed at enthusiasts who will engage in extreme overclocking. Out of the box, the Core i9-13900KS offers frequencies from 3.2 GHz to 6.0 GHz and an Intel UHD 770 graphics subsystem. No modification without iGPU is available.
The processor has received 8 performance and 16 energy efficient cores. Only the first have multi-threading support, i.e. the number of threads is 32. Nominal heat dissipation of Intel Core i9-13900KS compared to Core i9-13900K increased from 125W to 150W.
As you may have guessed, our hero is the most expensive desktop processor of Raptor Lake generation. Its price is $699. By comparison, the 3.0-5.8GHz Core i9-13900K is priced at $589. The KF version without iGPU is another $25 cheaper.
