Apple's AirTag helped save a dog that was swept away by storm water
We've heard many stories before about how Apple smartwatches and smartphones have saved owners who have been in accidents and had health problems. But this story is about saving a pet.
Here's What We Know
While walking with his owners, a one-year-old Australian sheepdog named Seamus fell into a storm drain. The powerful stream of sewage carried the dog away, and he managed to get out. But he was stuck at the bottom of the drainpipe and could not make it to the surface.
Fortunately, his owners had attached an Apple AirTag to his collar, which gave him a ballpark location.
Seamus' owners asked the rescue team for help and they quickly found the dog, took him out and returned him to his owners.
By the way, Apple created the AirTag to track items, and the company does not recommend using the tags to track pets, children, or other living creatures because they require the nearest iPhone to locate them, and they do not have their own built-in GPS tracking function. But as we can see, even so, the Apple AirTag can help in the search for pets.
