When will the Ukrainian Armed Forces receive SAMP/T SAMs with a range of up to 100km?

We have written more than once that France and Italy are going to transfer the SAMP/T surface-to-air missile system to Ukraine. The Internet has now published information about the timeframe for the delivery of the SAM system.

When We Can Expect It

According to the Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, supplies of SAMP/T must commence at the end of March. The Ukrainian military will undergo training on the use of SAM systems before that. By the way, apart from SAMP/T the AFU will also receive 700 Aster-30 surface-to-air missiles and two Thales will provide Ukraine with two Ground Master 200 radars with a range of up to 250km, to be used in conjunction with SAMP/T.

Flashback

SAMP/T is an anti-aircraft missile system for surface-to-air missiles. It was developed by the European consortium Eurosam (a joint venture of MBDA Italy, MBDA France and Thales). The system is designed to provide anti-aircraft protection for mechanized units as well as anti-aircraft protection of important targets from massive attacks. The SAM is capable of destroying air targets at altitudes up to 25 km and ranges of up to 100 km.
