Google Maps on Wear OS 3 smartwatches gain support for Always-on display

Google has updated its Maps app for smartwatches.

Here's What We Know

The new version of the app has gained support for Always-on display, which allows you to display the map and turn-by-turn navigation even when the watch's display is off. The innovation only works on devices with Wear OS 3. For example, on the Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatches.

When We Can Expect It

The innovation has already started showing up for smartwatch users. It's being rolled out server-side.
