Samsung Galaxy S23 flagships break pre-order records in South Korea - more than 1 million sold in 7 days
Samsung has suddenly discovered that the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones are hugely popular in South Korea. Despite a minor upgrade over the last generation series, the new products have set a record.
Here's What We Know
The company was able to sell 1.09 million of the new generation smartphones at the pre-order stage within 7 days. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S22 range got to 1.02 million units in 8 days of taking pre-orders.
Expectedly, the Ultra version is the most popular. It accounted for 60% of sales. The Plus variant, on the other hand, attracted the least interest from Korean buyers (15%). But this was also expected, because the Galaxy S23+ costs more than the Galaxy S23, but does not offer anything dramatically new.
The 1.09 million smartphones on pre-order is a new record for the Galaxy S series. The leader overall, on the other hand, is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 family. The smartphones were announced in August 2019 and have sold almost 1.4 million units.
