Telltale has managed to raise $8 million in Series A funding. Most of the funds were provided by Hiro Capital, but Skybound Entertainment also took an active part.

Here's What We Know

The funds raised will primarily be used to launch The Expanse: A Telltale Series, which is due out this year, the development of The Wolf Among Us 2, and another unannounced game.

Jamie Ottilie, CEO of Telltale, commented: "We're honoured to have the confidence of Hiro Capital, a fund that cares about the future of the gaming industry, and our colleagues at Skybound Entertainment. It is a pleasure to work with companies that share our commitment to narrative games and transmedia entertainment."

And Skybound CEO David Alpert said that the company continues to believe in the power of narrative games, and this investment will support Telltale in creating even more amazing stories.

Flashback

Previously, Skybound Entertainment helped the studio bring The Walking Dead series back to store shelves in 2020 after Telltale Games closed in 2018, but was revived in 2019 by LCG Entertainment, which was able to secure the rights to most of Telltale, Inc.'s original intellectual property, including branding, games, and game licences.
