Red Square Games Studio presented the debut trailer of SlavicPunk: Oldtimer, a cyberpunk game about detective Janus
The Polish studio Red Square Games has presented a trailer for its debut game, SlavicPunk: Oldtimer.
Here's What We Know
This project is an isometric shooter based on the works of Michał Gołkowski, a Polish science fiction writer. The game will tell the story of Janus, a private detective with a complicated past who is trying to solve a case involving a stolen data storage device. Janus will have to fight his own internal demons, city gangs and an almost omnipotent corporation responsible for the decline of the entire city.
The game will offer a modular weapon upgrade system that will make battles feel more interesting, stealth elements, puzzle solving, city exploration, additional quests, and, of course, the main story.
In general, SlavicPunk: Oldtimer is a Slavic cyberpunk game with a sharp sense of humour and a somewhat pessimistic view of neon-grey shades.
During development, the team asked themselves: "What will the world look like in a few decades? How will a hypothetical Central and Eastern European city and its inhabitants differ from, say, Los Angeles from Blade Runner or Neo-Tokyo from Akira?"
The desire to answer this question brought into play a combination of futuristic style and outdated technology. The gloomy brutalist architecture that is typical of post-communist countries. The unclear moral choices of the protagonist, the careless nature and atmosphere of an environment crowded with people forced to cope with the uneven distribution of goods and wealth, often relying on their wits and luck to survive until the next paycheck without losing their minds.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Price and release date for SlavicPunk: Oldtimer are unknown, but the game already has a page on Steam.
